Autumn sunlight crowns a forested ridge at Newfound Gap, revealing the rich colors of fall against the distant blue layers of the Great Smoky Mountains.
From Newfound Gap, the Great Smoky Mountains stretch toward the horizon in overlapping shades of blue. In the foreground, the late afternoon sunlight catches the autumn foliage along the ridge, bringing warmth to a landscape already beginning to settle into the cooler colors of fall.
Blue Ridge's Autumn Crown captures that contrast between the golden treetops and the distant mountains, a moment when the changing season and mountain light come together.
