Photographed at Payne Lake in Alabama, Through the Veil captures the Milky Way rising above the dark tree line and lake. A band of thin clouds crosses the center of the frame, partially obscuring the stars while allowing the Milky Way to remain visible behind them. The vertical composition moves from the dark water and silhouetted shoreline into the clouds and expansive field of stars overhead.
